Global Think-Tank Network was founded upon an overarching objective of promoting peace and prosperity at national, regional and international levels. Its vision is to be realized through state-of -art inter-disciplinary research and by knowledge based cooperation. GTTN joins hands with top think tanks and policy centers across Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Latin America. GTTN is to become a globally viable organization playing a responsible role in promoting peace and development through its knowledge sharing initiatives. GTTN is currently in its nascent stages and the first of several nodes has successfully been activated. In the first node, titled “China-Pakistan Joint Think Tank”, research guided by Expert Groups and distinguished lead researchers took place at NUST in partnership with two leading Chinese universities, Tsinghua University, Beijing, and Southwest University of Political Science & Law (SWUPL), Chongqing. The current China-Pakistan node of GTTN seeks to syncretize thought-leadership of both China and Pakistan for mutual geopolitical and economic gains.

ESTABLISHING LINKAGES WITH RELEVANT DOMESTIC & GLOBAL ACADEMIA, THINK TANKS, POLICY CENTRES & UNIVERSITIES TO BROADEN THE BASE OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL IN THE COUNTRY for the following objectives:

Tapping into the 21st century Knowledge & Technology  Capital in the world with a view to support social, economic & technological development of the country.

  • Linking with global academic & intellectual community to communicate ground realities in Pakistan and effectively project Pakistan’s point of view & position on national, regional & global issues for onward dissemination to both international & domestic governments, policy-makers & power-brokers.
  • Gaining Access to Global Intellectual Capital & Experiences for the benefit of Pakistan for improving governance, building political stability & accelerating socio-economic development.  (global level think-tanks: USA – 4000; China -1800; Pak – 20-25 (category 1-4: Academic/Donor/Corporate/Intelligence)
  • Integrating Pakistan with the Global Community for mutual interests, protecting national interests & promoting regional harmony.
  • Formulation of viable Policy Options & Solutions for resolution of both domestic & regional problems through domestic & international Collaborative Research because regional & global problems are sticky and difficult for any country to tackle alone.
